Our Mission

To encourage members to achieve high standards of riding skills
and therefore remain safe when riding their machines on today's busy and often hazardous roads.

Shropshire and Powys Advanced Riders have a team of hard-working group members and tutors who work with associate members with the purpose of developing their skills and riding ability. The aim of associate members and tutors is to achieve a high standard of riding and a thorough understanding of the Police Roadcraft manual and to be able to implement the System of motorcycle riding. Ultimately this should result in a successful RoSPA Advanced Motorcycle Test pass.

As a group we also have many social activities throughout the year and these are mostly based around the world of motorcycles. During the summer months we have social rides, barbecues and the occasional charity event. When the seasons change we meet at a local hostelry and have informative and often amusing talks, films or presentations relating to bikes, biking adventures or the general upkeep and maintenance of both bikes and equipment. We are an Advanced Riding group so it follows that members join the group to become advanced riders not just to take part in the social activities.

Nigel Davies Charity event

Nigel is a group member and also a Paramedic for the NHS. On the 28th and 29th June Nige and his colleagues are fundraising for The Harry Johnson Trust. As Nigel puts it ' its got to be worth making a fat biker sweat up 3 bloody big mountains in under 24 hrs to raise a few quid for a local charity like this.'
