Unofficial Rideout 6th March 2016

Mike Jones offered a replacement rideout following the cancellation of the official rideout due to expected poor weather.
Thankfully the weather improved somewhat and a few intrepid members braved the elements. Unfortunately the Montford Bridge cafe (our preferred meeting place)was closed so there was no choice but to venture forth coffee and bacon buttyless. Despite a mild bout of coffee withdrawal shakes we all arrived safely at Aberdovey only very slightly damp but greeted by some sunshine.
After lunch at a pleasant hostelry the group returned via Newtown, Dinkies (for coffee) then home.

Rideout 3rd April 2016

The first official ride of the year led by Kevin Fletcher. Around 24 bikes and riders attended despite the weather being slightly poorer than forecast. I am pleased to say that it remained reasonably dry for the duration. Kevin chose some good roads for the trip and headed towards Capel Bangor golf club for lunch.

Rideout 1st May 2016

There were around 19 bikes at lunchtime, a couple left at Bewdley & some left after lunch. We set out heading for Bewdley via Atcham, Wroxeter, Cressage, turning off the Bridgnorth Road just past Morville and travelling through Button Oak. We had a tea stop by the river at Bewdley when we had a few spits of rain. From there we headed to the Malvern hills via some lovely 'B' roads. At the top the sun was trying to show and it was pleasantly warm. From there we headed to Ledbury, taking lunch at 'The Retreat', a lovely pub run by an ex-biker who had sectioned off a corner for us. Unfortunately it did start to rain while we were there but luckily we rode away from it again heading back via Kington, Knighton, Hope Valley and finally back to Dinkies.

At last some real British summer weather. Around 30 bikes and riders/pillions amassed at Montford Bridge picnic area for the monthly ride. This time led by Bob Hayes (Ride Coordinator) who led the group through scenic Wales to the Rhug Cafe for coffee then on to Llandudno and the Great Orme for lunch.
After lunch and a petrol stop the group headed in a more direct route back towards Shropshire via the Rhug cafe again for more coffee. Temperatures peaking at 29 degs C.

Rideout August 2016

This months rideout was entitled 'Rivers and Lakes' and incorporated as many lakes as possible in a convenient time frame. First port of call was Lake Vyrnwy, followed by coffee at Lake Bala, around Lake Celyn then on to Lake Brenig for lunch via the Alwen reservoir.

Due to slow food service at Lake Brenig the afternoon route was shortened slightly but still taking in some scenic roads with stunning views. The official ride ended at Rhug Estates cafe.

Rideout November 2016

With the promise of a half decent day albeit chilly, a group of our members met at Montford Bridge for the usual coffee and bacon baps prior to this months rideout. Our ride leader Richard led us south through the Shropshire Hills with a comfort stop in Clun before continuing into Radnorshire for a lunch stop at Crossgates Cafe. After lunch we headed north towards Newtown before heading over the Kerry Hills back in to Shropshire via Clun for a 2nd time with an afternoon coffee stop at the Secret Hill Discovery Center in Craven Arms.

Rideout December 2016

This, the last rideout of the year was lead by John Roe. The usual meeting point at Montford Bridge saw 10 bikes depart heading for the scenic roads to Betws y Coed for lunch. Some departed for home afterwards and a small group returned to Montford Bridge.
The day was bright and sunny but very cold.
