Social Events
May
Event - Martin Powell's Charity Motorbike Ride in aid of Severn Hospice
Sunday 27th May. You'll need to donate £5 to participate.
Stuart Wall will collect your money from 9am and the ride will set
off at 10:30 from
Montford Bridge to Rhayader, were copious cakes will be served.
Either way, these meetings are an ideal chance for members
to meet up when we are not biking and for anyone interested in the
group to come along and meet us and find out about advanced riding.
Social evenings are normally at a local pub on the fourth Wednesday unless stated
otherwise below.

BBQ
at Pat & Stu's on 23rd July 2011
Once again Pat and Stuart Wall opened their home to SAPAR members for a bring your own BBQ. It was very well attended and a wide and varied choice of food was cooked to a very high standard by the resident chef,(Stu). Pat was doing sterling work in the kitchen making sure everybody was looked after. I for one thoroughly enjoyed the company.and the food. A great big thank you to Pat and Stu. (Glyn)

Martin Powell's Charity Ride:
Over 30 members of SAPAR took part in Martin Powell's charity ride in support of the Severn Hospice on 22nd May. Our group departed from Montford Bridge Picnic Area and rode to Rhayader, where Martin and his family had laid on home made cakes and refreshments for over 100 people. The weather was excellent, if a little windy. Later in the day we rode on to Aberwstwyth for coffee on the beach front and then home. We rode about 188 miles on the day and had a brilliant time. We were later told that our group had contributed over £200 to the hospice. This is an established annual event and we are all looking forward to next year.

Monthly Social Meeting: We vary the choice of venue for our Social Meetings. This is to reflect the wide area from which we draw our membership. Sometimes we simply meet for a natter and bar food, and on other occasions we have specific events.

SAPAR are the local RoSPA motorcycle group for Shropshire and Powys - Our aim is to provide advanced motorcycle tutoring up to Gold standard advanced level. Tutoring is provided by RoSPA approved Tutors and is aimed at anyone who is interested in improving the standard of their motorcycle riding. When you ride with SAPAR tutors, or are on a group ride-out, or other SAPAR or RoSPA related activity or event, an absolute condition is that you are responsible for your own riding. You must be in control of your motorbike at all times. Your motorbike must be fully road legal, including insurance, tax, with an MoT if required. You must have a driving licence and insurance valid for the machine that you ride. While advice may be given by SAPAR tutors, it is your decision whether to act on this advice or not. Ensuring safety for yourself and of others is entirely your responsibility. SAPAR, its committee and tutors, and RoSPA will accept no liability for accidents or damage however caused which occur as a result of your riding.
