Rider Skills Coaching
The Aim of Shropshire and Powys Advanced Riders is to improve skills, helping riders to make smooth progress by early assessment of hazards and decision making about the hazards.
Coaching, which follows Roadcraft, the Police Federation book is provided by our team of experienced tutors on a one-to-one basis. The aim, other than helping you to enjoy riding with advanced skills is to prepare the rider to take the RoSPA Advanced Motorbike test (RoADAR).
The cost assuming you have 6 sessions with a tutor prior to your test are around £200
When riding do you ever find yourself:
Having to brake sharply for hazards, other road users or bends? Riding too close to the vehicle ahead? Feeling anxious, tense or intimidated? Regretting what you’ve just done?
Be it as a personal interest or a necessity that we ride a motorbike it is probably one of the most risky things that we do on a regular basis.. We make up only 1% of road users but we account for a high proportion of the casualties on the road. Advanced rider training will help to reduce those risks and help you to enjoy your ride.
About our Tutors
All of our tutors are experienced riders who have undertaken additional training and are registered with RoSPA. Apart from the training and skills needed to pass the RoSPA advanced rider test they are all able to offer unbiased advice and feedback to associates to enable them to enhance their riding skills with a view to taking the RoSPA Advanced Test
The test can be taken on any road legal bike providing your license covers you for that bike. To achieve the highest standard of test pass (Gold) you must be able to demonstrate an ability to ride at the national speed limits
It is hoped your skill development will have reached a point where you are ready to take the RoSPA Advanced test after 6 to 10 sessions and within typically 4 months. However work and life can get in the way so tutoring can be flexible to help.
